writing competition. Zenobia Lever(III TTM) secured 3rd prize in

Vignan college of degree
and PG , Palakaluru,Guntur(Dt.) has conducted an inter collegiate Statistics
meet on 27th August’14 in their college. On this occasion various

STAFF ACTIVITIES:
Mrs.Saraja has attended a
national work shop on “Usage of SPSS software in research and development
activities” organized by Christ University, Bangalore for three days(7th-9th
)in the month of May’2014.
Mrs. Saraja went for a
visit together with Ms.Anuhya to STELLA MARIS COLLEGE,PRESIDENCY COLLEGE and
NEW COLLEGE in chennai to observe their best practices in both curricular and
extra curricular aspects.
Mrs.Parveen has attended a
one day work shop on “SPSS training programme “ organized by
Hindu college, Guntur on 7th
October’14.
Mrs.Saraja attended as a
Board of Studies member of Statistics Department for CH.SD.ST. THERESA’S DEGREE
COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, Eluru, NOBLE COLLEGE ,Machilipatnam and SDMS MAHILA
KALASALA, Vijayawada for the acdemic year 2014-’15.
Department has organized
an inter collegiate Statistics meet”SANKHYA’15”
in which 65 students from various colleges in and around Vijayawada were
participated.
On this occasion A guest
lecture was delivered by Prof.GVSR.Aanjaneyulu on “the concept of 6-Sigma
limits and it’s applications”.
On this occasion ,
department has conducted various competitions. In Paper presentation
competition, St.Theresa degree college,Eluru, Nalanda college and Siddhattha
Mahila coleege, Vijayawada stood in 1st,2nd and 3rd
places respectively.
In quiz,Loyola
college,Vijayawada, Vignan degree college ,Guntur and Triveni mahila college
vijayawada won first ,second and third prizes respectively.
In Poster presentation,
Nalanda college ,Vijayawada won the 1st,St.Theresa’s dedgree college
for women won 2nd prize and SDMS mahila kalasala,vijayawada won 3rd
prize .
In Treasure hunt, Loyola won the prize.

On the occasion of national statistics day
on 29th June2015,Department
in association with NSSO has organized a guest lecture on”Statistics in
social sector and social welfare” by Dr.K.Chandan, Professor, Acharya Nagarjuna
University, Guntur.

Mrs. Parveen syed has attended a national seminar held in
St.Anns Degree college for women, Hyderabad on 21st of August on the
topic “ Recent Population trends and tendencies”.
Mrs. Saraja has attended a national conference on “ The
role of Statistical inference and it’s applications in recent research
analysis” conducted in Sri
Dharmasthala Manjunatha swamy Degree & PG college (Autonomous),Ujire,
Karnataka on 30th and 31st Oct’15.
Mrs. Saraja attended as a
Board of Studies member of Statistics Department for CH.SD.ST. THERESA’S DEGREE
COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, Eluru, NOBLE COLLEGE ,Machilipatnam ,SDMS MAHILA KALASALA,
Vijayawada and PB Siddhrtha college of arts and sciences, Vijayawada for the acdemic year 2015-’16.

fields” by Dr. Venkateswara Rao, Professor, HOD, Department of Statistics,
Agricultural university, Bapatla.

SAANKHYA’17:
As part of the association
activity ,the department has conducted ‘Saankhya-17’ on 21st
January,2017. On this occasion , a guest lecture was arranged to the students
of our college and also outsiders on the topic “BIG DATA ANALYSIS-IT’S
OPPURTUNITIES IN PRESENT BUSINESS WORLD”
by the department. The resource person was Dr. Y. Mohan Kumar, Lead Data Scientist, Verizon Company,
Hyderabad. He explained about the wide opportunities to Statistics learners in
analyzing the data in business and marketing field very explicitly.
On the same day department
has conducted competitions for students from various colleges in and around
Vijayawada. The details are as follows:
Paper presentation:
18 students were
participated and 1st place was won by Nalanda college, VJA, second place by St.
Theressa’s college, Eluru and third place won by SDMSM college VJA.
Poster presentation:
9 were participated and
first place secured by CH.Sd.St. Theressa’s degree college, Eluru. Second
place won by Nalanda Degree college ,
Vijayawada and third place won by Satya Sai
degree college , Vijayawada.
Quiz:
In quiz prelims 10 groups
were participated out of which 5
selected. 1st place won by KBN Degree college. Nalanda
college stood in second place and third place won by Triveni college.
Staff activities:
Mrs Saraja has attended a workshop for faculty
development on “Teaching techniques in the class room” organized by SDMS Mahila
college, Vijayawada on 4th Nov 2016.
Mrs. Parveen syed has attended a one day national workshop on
OER’s on 20th January-2017 in the college.

”for students in which 12 of our final year and second year students
were participated and P. Vasavi of final MSCs secured second prize in
Elocution.

on “TOT” organized by Loyola college , Chennai along with other staff members
on 19th and 20th May’2017.
